Autumn is just beginning and the pressure on hospitals is already increasing.
Last week, 26 new CHSLDs and 13 hospital centers were added to the list of newly outbreak locations.
In total, 1,135 people are hospitalized and 19 are in intensive care across the province. In the week of September 10, 48 deaths linked to COVID-19 were recorded, or approximately seven per day. Unsurprisingly, seniors are the most affected.
In Quebec alone, 118 people are hospitalized due to COVID-19.
In Estrie, the CIUSSS de l’Estrie has decided to make wearing a mask compulsory for staff and visitors for an indefinite period. There are currently dozens of absent staff.
In the health network, wearing a mask is no longer compulsory since the end of the health emergency.
In Montreal, the McGill University Health Center (MUHC) made the same decision.
