COVID-19: 42 new deaths in Quebec, hospitalizations down

Quebec has 93 fewer hospitalizations compared to the previous day, for a total of 2,637 people occupying a hospital bed.

The number of occupied beds in intensive care has also decreased (191, -13). Thursday’s toll, however, is clouded by 42 additional deaths, down slightly from the 50 deaths recorded the day before.

Nearly 3,592 cases of COVID-19 have also been reported among people with access to screening centers.

According to the latest Public Health data, 53,858 rapid tests have been self-reported since the government platform was set up on January 25. Of those tests, 40,941 came back positive, including 963 during the day Wednesday.

In Ontario too, the number of hospitalizations continues to decline (2797, -142), as does the number of people in intensive care (541, -14).

The most populous province in the country also added 74 more deaths to its death toll on Thursday. Also, 4,098 cases among people who have access to PCR tests were reported Thursday.

Nunavut also updated its numbers adding 71 new cases since Tuesday.
