A couple was arrested in Germany on Sunday July 16 after kidnapping their daughter in Rennes, France Bleu Armorique reported on Monday. Judicial information for “kidnapping” was opened on Monday, the Rennes prosecutor’s office told France Bleu, confirming information from Ouest-France.
The 13-month-old girl had been hospitalized in Rennes since Friday, on the decision of a children’s judge. She had been admitted to the departments of the Sud de Rennes hospital for dehydration. Her parents got permission to come and see her the next day, Saturday. The Rennes prosecutor specifies that“they came out with the child, without being detained by the staff who immediately informed the prosecution”.
The child is healthy
The next day, Sunday, the parents took turns contacting the hospital and were “guests” to bring the child back. What they didn’t do. Instead, they tried to reach Istanbul, Turkey, before being arrested at Düsseldorf airport in Germany.
The father, 28, is of Iraqi nationality. The mother, 23, is of French nationality. The child is in good health. She was taken to hospital overnight from Sunday to Monday. She was to be taken into care on Monday by the child protection services in Germany. The investigation was entrusted to the departmental security of Rennes.
