The Limoges CSP did not do in detail this Tuesday evening at Beaublanc against Chartres. Massimo Cancellieri’s players easily won against the 3rd in Pool B of NM1 on the score of 101 to 62 with 24 Massinburg points. A victory which allows Limougeauds to reach the 8th finals of the Coupe de France marked by the entry into the running of Elite clubs having finished the championship between 1st and 8th place last season.
The meeting: The CSP not at all worried by Chartres
Very aggressive from the start of the match, the Limougeauds immediately took Chartres by the throat to offer a quiet meeting. At the break, they were already leading 51 to 30 with a CJ Massinburg (see below) still as efficient. A gap that allowed the coach to open his bench wide, giving the passage nearly 7 minutes of play to young Cédrick Sam Baka, 6 minutes to Thimothée Bazille or 20 minutes to Horace Spencer. The executives were able to be spared before Friday’s trip to Reims.
The player in form: CJ Massinburg MVP in just 15 minutes
The US combo did it all in the 1st half. Author of 24 points at 8 of 9 shooting including 4 of 4 at 3 points, CJ Massinburg missed almost nothing in attack. He gives himself the luxury of finishing with the best evaluation, +26, after spending only 15 minutes on the Beaublanc floor opposite Chartres. Sir clean, again.
The day without: Thimothée Bazille must be able to do better
A shot under the circle too short before putting too much after the offensive rebound, symbol of a player lacking confidence. While Friday’s match in Reims promises to be “important” according to the coach, Massimo Cancellieri was able to limit the playing time of the executives. While Massinburg only played 15 minutes, Paumier only played 14 minutes of the match, Lang 21 minutes, Invernizzi 17 minutes and Harper only 18 minutes.
