According to his entourage, Bernard Cazeneuve would not be “applicant” from the post, but will meet the head of state out of duty and to avoid further difficulties for the country.

However, the leaders of the New Popular Front have made it known that they would oppose him, maintaining the candidacy of Lucie Castets. If he were to be chosen, he would then find himself in a cohabitation with Emmanuel Macron.
