Côtes-d’Armor, Finistère and Manche placed on red alert for “strong wind” from next night, 17 other departments in orange

Brittany and Normandy will be the first regions affected by this “very strong autumn storm”, which will spread to the rest of the country on Thursday.

Storm Ciaran is approaching. Côtes-d’Armor, Finistère and Manche will go into red alert for “strong wind” during the night of Wednesday November 1 to Thursday November 2, from midnight until 10 a.m., Météo-France announced, Wednesday. Seventeen other departments in the North-West, from Vendée to the North, will be in orange during this stormy night.

Gérald Darmanin has already announced on Tuesday that “3,200 firefighters” will be mobilized in six departments, citing “Manche, Côtes-d’Armor, Ille-et-Vilaine, Finistère, Morbihan and Loire-Atlantique”. He advised all residents of the affected areas to “stay at home during the night from Wednesday to Thursday” and to be careful throughout the territory.
