A man in his fifties succumbed to his injuries after a violent head-on collision on Sunday evening in Longue-Rive, on the North Shore.
The accident occurred around 7:00 p.m. on Highway 138, when the victim in a sport utility vehicle (SUV) had swerved out of its lane to hit head-on an oncoming pickup truck.
Transported in critical condition to a hospital, the 50-year-old finally succumbed to his injuries, said the spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec (SQ), Hélène St-Pierre.
For his part, the driver of the van got away with minor injuries, according to the Sûreté du Québec.
The investigation opened by the police into the circumstances of this fatal accident is still ongoing, it was added.
