Côte-d’Orienne chef Joy-Astrid Blanchard-Poinsot wins the world championship of the egg in meurette

She is the first woman – and the first Burgundian chef, even Côte-d’Orienne! – to win the title since the creation of the Championship. Joy-Astrid Blanchard-Poinsot, chef of the restaurant Chez Camille in Arnay-le-Duc is the new world champion of the oeuf en meurette. The competition took place this Sunday, October 9 at the Château du Clos de Vougeot. The 13 professional chefs in the running had one hour to prepare and dress 13 plates.

Having studied at the Paul Bocuse Institute in Lyon, Joy-Astrid Blanchard-Poinsot opens her first restaurant specializing in Charolais beef only 21 years old. She then participated in the famous Top Chef competition in 2016, then bought the Chez Camille restaurant in Arnay-le-Duc in 2020.

A double for the Côte-d’Or

Another Côte-d’Orien honoured, Jean-Bruno Gosse, the chef of Loiseau des Ducs in Dijon. He received the price of creativity for his interpretation of the mythical Burgundian recipe. Created in 2020, the creativity prize rewards the most original dish in accordance with the rules of the recipe. Jean-Bruno Gosse succeeds this year to Jérôme Joubert, chef of the Restaurant Le Rive Gauche in Joigny, consecrated in 2021, and to Franco Bowanee, distinguished in 2020.

Two other Côte-d’Oriens were also rewarded this weekend, in the amateur category
and in the apprentice category.
