A call was made to 911 at around 12:30 a.m. regarding an armed assault that was taking place in an apartment building on rue Bouchette.

When the SPVM agents arrived on the scene, they allegedly saw a man with a knife who took refuge in a dwelling. Outside the building, the police heard “a person moaning, possibly injured, inside the accommodation,” reports the BEI.

Police reportedly entered the building at around 1 a.m. and found two unconscious men on the ground, aged 39 and 45. Their death was then declared.

A total of five BEI investigators are responsible for shedding light on this case, in collaboration with the Sûreté du Québec (SQ).
