Recorded in Nashville under the auspices of Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys, the sixth studio album by the Swiss guitarists with Ecuadorian roots has the grandeur of the arid landscapes of the Chihuahuan Desert, where so many American westerns were filmed. An exercise in country-rock’n’roll style, Cosmic Sound continues the momentum given by The Good and the Bad (2022), while the Gutiérrez knit a new album of atmospheric instrumental rock evoking again the film scores of Ry Cooder or the expertise in guitar textures of a Daniel Lanois.
