A volcanic exfoliant… that cleanses
The Jack Black range for men (no relation to the actor) has just been enriched with a body scrub-cleanser made from natural volcanic rock. Don’t worry about this greyish charcoal paste that is good for you: it gently scrubs the skin and effectively rids it of unwanted scales and odors. The paste, which also contains extracts of seaweed, aloe, baobab and shea, has an inviting iodized smell. For those who still shiver at the idea of using the pumice stone or the exfoliating sponge of their better half, the brand has developed a very soft and antibacterial silicone scraper. It will soon be followed, at the beginning of April, by a new energizing and moisturizing lotion that combines the liveliness of eucalyptus and the softness of aloe vera.

We had little doubts about letting ourselves scrape off the dead skin and down from the face with a surgical blade. It’s called the dermaplaning, and it is a treatment that has recently been offered at Dermapure. “This physical exfoliation triggers the cell regeneration process, improves the texture, uniformity and radiance of the skin, in addition to allowing better absorption of topical treatments. It is also an excellent [option] for skin sensitive to other types of exfoliation,” boasts the leaflet. This one is true! A few days after the perfectly painless treatment (there is not even a little discomfort), the skin is soft like a baby’s. The moisturizer applies like a charm and the makeup too.
