Corrèze on yellow alert

Watch out for the hot weather over the next few days in Limousin. The heat peaks announced for several days are coming from the southwest. The department of Corrèze is on yellow alert from this Wednesday morning.

The prefecture calls for the greatest caution, especially with regard to the elderly but also to people who are homeless or who have no possibility of getting cool. Several places of freshness open their doors as in Tulle where an air-conditioned space at the “Résidence de Nacre” autonomy residence is open to vulnerable people from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., with a water point and toilets. Brive reception hours are extended, two daily patrols are set up and water distribution is organized regularly.

“When the temperature rises, you have to drink a lot and cool down, avoid going out during the hottest hours” insists the prefect of Corrèze, Salima Saa, visiting the Arnac-Pompadour nursing home. She also asks relatives of the elderly “to be careful and to check that they hydrate well”. Common sense measures.

In Limoges, the Beaublanc swimming pool will open continuously except weekends and with extended hours, starting this Thursday and until next week.
