CORRECTION. We reported that an attack had been foiled during the Easter weekend, citing the comments of government spokesperson Prisca Thevenot during the Council of Ministers report on Wednesday April 3. The spokesperson’s entourage subsequently denied this assertion. We apologize to our readers.

Contrary to what spokesperson Prisca Thevenot announced on Wednesday April 3 in the report of the Council of Ministers, no attack was foiled during the Easter weekend, specifies those around her. Initially, the spokesperson spoke of a foiled attack attempt “last weekend”.

According to those around her who returned to her comments, Prisca Thevenot was referring to the remark “from the Ministry of the Interior and Overseas this weekend which announced the arrest of an individual at the beginning of March who wanted to attack places of worship”. This attempt was foiled on March 5.
