Friday, despite bogeys on the 16th and 17th holes, he returned a 73 card and totaled 143 strokes. The 30-year-old Ontarian thus finds himself at -1.

In Woods’ case, he went into his second round with a bogey on the first hole just short of par. Thursday, he had played 71 (-1) for his return to competition since his serious road accident which occurred in February 2021.

In the middle of the afternoon, the South Korean Sungjae Im and the Briton Danny Willet, still on the ground, temporarily shared the lead at -4.
