Member of Parliament in the third constituency of Hérault since 2017, Coralie Dubost had retired from political life after the affair on her “mirrobolant expense reports” in the spring of 2022. She thus wished to focus on her personal life and in particular her motherhood.
Coralie Dubost reacted to the scandal revealed by Mediapart on his excessive expense reports, deciding to withdraw from political life by not standing for re-election for the legislative elections. Disputing the facts with which he is accused, the former companion of Olivier Véran had explained his approach in a message published on social networks: “For the past few days, my person has been the target of unfair attacks that serve my political group, the electoral deadlines and more generally democracy. (…) I refuse to be the instrument of an anti-parliamentary cabal, in the same way that I refuse to lend myself to a ping-pong of justifications which border on a phantasmagoric lynching.“
