(Charlotte) Uruguayan striker Darwin Nunez was involved in a violent fight after his team’s defeat against Colombia (1-0) on Wednesday in the semi-final of the Copa America in Charlotte (United States).
As soon as the end of the match had sounded, two groups of supporters, who had provoked each other during the match, clashed violently.
The vast majority of spectators present in the stadium were Colombians, but without separation from the Uruguayan fans.
Uruguay players, including striker Darwin Nunez, rushed into the crowd, apparently to protect their supporters from Colombian fans, for a confrontation that lasted a few minutes before the police intervened.
About a hundred Uruguayan spectators, as well as the players, remained in the stadium for a good half hour after the fight.
