COP26 | $ 12,000 advertisement to attract green investors

While the international climate conference is in full swing in Glasgow, Quebec has invested more than tens of thousands of dollars to run an advertisement in a Scottish newspaper, in order to praise the province’s “green economy” to investors.

Quebec is “the best place to invest in the green economy” because of its abundant green energy, its innovative ecosystem and its know-how, can we read in an advertising page of the daily newspaper The Herald, appeared on Wednesday. In this ad, the Quebec government reiterates its climate targets, such as achieving carbon neutrality by 2050 and reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 37.5% compared to the level of the 90s, by 2030.

This advertising campaign, claiming that “Quebec is at the forefront of the green economy”, cost nearly $ 12,000, indicates the cabinet of François Legault. In addition to the print ad that will appear again on Sunday, a banner ad will be broadcast for a week. A QR code provides access to more detailed content about Quebec’s green economy.

On Wednesday, François Legault participated in the United Nations climate summit, COP26, in Glasgow. He will also be present on Thursday, in particular to demonstrate the possibility of combining the green economy with the reduction of greenhouse gases. The Premier believes that the hydropower and green hydrogen sectors represent clean technology opportunities for the province.
