For a father, cooking with his daughter has become a little Wednesday ritual. On the menu today, a ladybug tart. With the confinements, online recipe sites and applications have seen their audience jump. Among them, Chefclub and its 110 million subscribers around the world. This real cooking recipe business, in a courtyard in the heart of Paris, is the idea of ​​three brothers: Axel, Thomas and Jonathan. “Simple ingredients, surprising recipes“, this is the promise made by the siblings.

15 million turnover

None of them are cooks, they studied economics. At the back of the room, they are thinking about future recipes, with the desire to be spectacular and visual in mind. The recipes are then tested right next to it. If they are satisfactory, they are then filmed in French and English in a short format of 3 to 5 minutes, which will tour the planet.

Last year, Chefclub achieved 15 million turnover thanks to a well-established economic model. “The more views we have on the platforms, the more we are paid. The second part of revenue is merchandise, and a third way to generate revenue is brand partnerships“, describes Axel Lang. Popular sites and applications: six out of ten French people say they connect to them at least once a month.
