In the “Purchases of tomorrow” section, Friday June 10, journalist Dorothée Lachaud, present on the set of 13 Hours, came to present glasses intended for seniors and a box to save lives.
Friday June 10, journalist Dorothée Lachaud was on the 13 Hours set to talk about glasses for seniors. “These are smart glasses, capable of detecting falls. Inside the temples are hidden infrared sensors. If I wear them and I fall, these sensors will detect the fall. An alert is everything immediately sent to an assistance platform. Someone will call me to determine if I am fine and notify my relatives or the emergency services as needed. And then, as a little extra, the glasses also have an option for driving: they detect drowsiness at the wheel”explains the journalist.
This yeara small box to save lives, the “Geocheart”, won first prize in the competition Lepine. “It’s a small connected panel installed above the defibrillators, you know, which are installed everywhere in public places. The idea of the box is to encourage passers-by to go faster to rescue to a person who has had a cardiac arrest. If a cardiac arrest occurs, as soon as the emergency services are notified, the Geoheart system is triggered. A flashing light and a voice message then light up to encourage people nearby to bring the defibrillator to of the victim. To find out where he is, just scan the QR code on the Geoheart”reports Dorothy Lachaud. The objective is to save time on interventions. Each year, cardiac arrests are responsible for 50,000 deaths. 1000 Geochearts will be installed this year.
