Many heads of state have expressed concern about the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip. Currently, resources must be dropped from the sky on the Palestinian enclave. Campaigning for the Democratic primary in the United States, President Joe Biden on Thursday, February 7, asked the American army to build a port in Gaza in order to deliver aid. “I think it’s a bit of pressure,” judge Denis Charbit, professor of political science at the Free University of Israel.
A potential “turning point” in the war?
Faced with the peak of the humanitarian crisis, Joe Biden is reportedly trying to “maintain a form of support for the Israeli side (…) but in fact he no longer expects cooperation with Israel”. According to the specialist “consultation at the humanitarian level no longer exists” between the United States and Israel. The American president would thus be caught “between two fires”which could mark “a turning point in the war between Hamas and Israel”.
