Constitutional Council rejects Marine Le Pen’s request to annul Yaël Braun-Pivet’s election as President of the National Assembly

The Constitutional Council rejected, on Thursday, September 12, the request of Marine Le Pen, who requested the annulment of the election of the president of the National Assembly Yaël Braun-Pivet as well as the other members of the bureau of this assembly. The Sages consider that this decision does not fall within their competence, they write in a press release.

Yaël Braun-Pivet was re-elected as President of the National Assembly on July 18. She was re-elected in the third round with 220 votes, ahead of André Chassaigne (207 votes) and Sébastien Chenu (141 votes).

That evening after the vote, Marine Le Pen denounced “the schemes between the far left, the Macronists and the LR, who formed unnatural alliances three weeks ago to perpetuate those who have failed”Marine Le Pen had seized the Constitutional Council on August 1.
