Conservative Party of Quebec | A website calls for the resignation of Éric Duhaime

(Quebec) A website calls for the resignation of the leader of the Conservative Party of Quebec (PCQ) Éric Duhaime.

“Join the group of PCQ members for the resignation of Éric Duhaime”, we can read on the home page of the site.

Eric Duhaime is particularly criticized for being a poor debater and for wanting to cling to his salary of $135,000 per year.

“This is the salary that Éric Duhaime pays himself for not having been able to elect a single deputy to the National Assembly,” we can read.

It is also said that the Conservative leader does not surround himself with the right people.

It was not possible to find out who is behind this website.

“We wonder if it is really a conservative activist who attacks his leader, a political opponent or a troll who hides behind an anonymous website,” reacted the party’s press secretary, Cédric Lapointe, by text message.

Aspiring chefs

The site offers four people who could replace Éric Duhaime at the head of the PCQ. Marie-Josée Hélie, Jacinthe-Eve Arel and Jonathan Poulin are all three former candidates for the party during the last provincial election.

We finally find Alexandre Cormier-Denis, who became known last September due to the controversy caused by his invitation to a consultation on immigration to the National Assembly.

In his videos broadcast in particular on X, the man regularly and vehemently criticizes newcomers. The National Assembly finally decided to disinvite Mr. Cormier-Denis.

The PCQ will hold its national congress on November 18 and 19 in Lévis. Éric Duhaime will face a vote of confidence there.
