The friendly soccer match that was to oppose Canada to Panama on Sunday evening will not take place due to a salary dispute between the players of the Canadian team and Soccer Canada.

This was learned by the TSN network in the afternoon and Soccer Canada subsequently confirmed the matter.
The players would have decided not to play at BC Place in Vancouver in order to put pressure on the federation. There is currently a contractual negotiation between the athletes and this one. There seems to be a dispute over the remuneration of sportsmen when they participate in the World Cup at the end of the year.
Recall that the players had also refused to take part in training on Saturday.
The clash against Panama was to be the first of three games for Canada during the current international break. The Maple Leaf is set to take on Curaçao (June 9) and Honduras (June 13) in the 2022-23 CONCACAF Nations League A.
