She is at the helm of the morning show on RMC and BFMTV, “Apolline Morning”, since August 2020, and her job necessarily requires personal sacrifices from Apolline de Malherbe. In an interview with Le Figaro, the 43-year-old journalist talks about her life as a mother “messy“, which she probably wouldn’t change for anything in the world!
“When I was still a student”
The political journalist had two boys, born in 2007 and 2010 from her relationship with Alexis Morel, and two other children from her love affair with her husband Harold Hauzy, including a daughter, Hannah, born in March 2017. She says: “I had my first child very early, when I was still a student. And that’s very good.”
Because Apolline has not given up on any of her ambitions in her life as a woman. She assumes: “I love when life comes crashing in like that, without warning. I would probably have been sad not to have this messy life that forces me to juggle!” Enough to make it pragmatic, too, since she admits that already at the time, she had “quickly understood” that she would neither “a perfect mother nor a perfect journalist” !
And for good reason, “Managing children from kindergarten to college requires knowing how to deal with the unexpected.”she says, even if she imagines meeting: “much more unforeseen events in my personal life than in my professional life”. In fact, Apolline de Malherbe prioritizes!
“We’re moving forward and we’ll sleep later…“
The one who took over from Jean-Jacques Bourdin in the morning explains: “En depending on the moment, I sometimes give priority to one of my children if he needs me and prepare for my interview later in the evening“. And if the pace must be sustained, the young mother knows, opportunities like those she had cannot be refused. So she admitted: “We look for moments to breathe which, sometimes, do not arrive. But it does not matter. We’re moving forward and we’ll sleep later…“.
