Condo building | Major fire in the Lower Laurentians

A condo building in Bois-des-Filion was engulfed in flames for several hours on Thursday evening.

At 8:15 p.m., firefighters from the Sainte-Thérèse fire station and several other North Shore fire departments were dispatched to Adolphe-Chapleau Boulevard in Bois-des-Filion, where a major fire broke out in a building.

“The fire is raging in the central building of a series of three,” the fire station said in a Facebook post published around 10 p.m. At that time, the flames had still not been brought under control.

A large security perimeter was set up by the police to control the crowd. The Bois-des-Filion/Lorraine Firefighters Association indicated at 10 p.m., also on its Facebook page, that traffic was impossible on the boulevard.

As of 11:15 p.m., the authorities and the Sainte-Thérèse fire department had not yet responded to our requests.
