Conclusion Monday at the RBC Heritage, where Scheffler has five priority shots

(Hilton Head Island) Only rain can stop Masters Champion Scottie Scheffler, it seems.

Scheffler made a difficult eagle on his second hole and then kept the momentum going at the RBC Heritage tournament on Sunday.

He took a five-shot lead at 20 under after 15 holes, before play was stopped; heavy rain stopped activities for two and a half hours, postponing the end of the tournament until Monday.

Reigning U.S. Open champion Wyndham Clark shone, playing 8 under through 11 holes, before a double bogey.

He brought back a card of 65 for a total of 269, minus 15.

The final round will start again Monday at 8 a.m.

Scheffler is on the verge of winning for the fourth time in five tournaments. He finished second at the Houston Open.

He is trying to become the first player since Bernhard Langer in 1985 to win a tournament in the week following a Masters triumph.

Patrick Cantlay, JT Poston and Sahith Theegala are also 15 shots under par. They have between one and three holes left to play.

Mackenzie Hughes of Hamilton was the top Canadian, placing 39eafter a 71.

Canada was also represented by Adam Hadwin (42e), Corey Conners (44e), Adam Svensson (44e also) and Nick Taylor (49e).
