Just a few days after the announcement of the international midfielder’s withdrawal from the Champions League final with Real Madrid, and his possible absence at the start of the tournament during the upcoming Euro (June 14-July 14) , more bad news has just fallen on Didier Deschamps’ desk, Thursday May 23. This time, it is its goalkeeper Mike Maignan, indisputable holder, who is injured in the finger, a few weeks before the start of the competition.

In a statement, his club AC Milan indicated that the goalkeeper was injured in training, ahead of the match against Salernitana. “During training this Thursday morning, while making a stop, Mike Maignan suffered a dislocation of the little finger of his left hand,” said the Lombard club. If he does not suffer from any fracture, according to the first examinations, he will however have to wear a splint, at least for a week. He will have to submit to doctors again at the end of this rest period to determine the progress of his recovery.

Absent for a month due to a right adductor injury, Mike Maignan is going through a difficult period and was due to return to competition this Saturday, for the last day of Serie A. His last appearance on the pitch dates back to April 22 against ‘Inter Milan. The former Lille player has suffered multiple injuries over the last two years, having already missed several matches due to various problems this season.
