AMG

Like BMW’s M subsidiary, AMG is beginning the electrification of its high-performance models. The AMG EQS (test bench of January 10) is the first to wear the colors of the small Affalterbach factory which currently produces several sports derivatives (petrol) of existing models at Mercedes. For now, the firm with the star promises to electrify the E-Class (EQE) shortly, a sedan of comparable size to that of the M5. This new sedan should be visible in dealerships at the end of next year. No official announcement, however, of an electrified AMG version. The latter, if we believe the rumour, will begin a commercial career in 2023.

RS

The RS logo stands for high performance at Audi.

Unlike BMW, Audi confirms its intention to cease the development of thermal engines from 2026 and to offer only electric thrusters within its range from 2033. The brand with the four intertwined rings has since offered a sedan (e-tron GT ) all-electric engine closely derived from Porsche’s Taycan. Like Mercedes, Audi should add an electrified version of its A6 next year and it will obviously be entitled to a sporty version (S and RS) in the months that follow.

And BMW?

BMW is preparing an electrified version of the M5.

Of course, BMW intends to join the group. Already, the Bavarian firm is letting the rumor run of an electrified M5 capable of producing the equivalent of 1000 hp with the assistance of an internal combustion engine… Let’s see! One thing is certain, by 2025, the BMW group intends to introduce 23 new electric vehicles to its catalog.
