Towards a gigantic fine for Fox News? The trial which should normally open Tuesday, April 18 in Delaware will be very followed in all the country. Electronic voting machine company Dominion is seeking $1.6 billion in damages from Fox News. A huge sum, but at the height, according to her, of the prejudice for having been presented on Fox News as “the mean one“of one”fabricated story” after the 2020 presidential election lost by Donald Trump, writes Dominion in its complaint. The most watched conservative channel on American cable is accused of having relayed without evidence the accusations of fraud from the Trump camp after the 2020 presidential election. The examples of Conspiratorial remarks are actually quite numerous.

On November 8, 2020, the day after the announcement of the presidential results, lawyer Sidney Powell, an ally of Trump, was the guest of Fox News. The reporter asks him to tell her about Dominion. “I know, she says, that there were voting irregularities”. “That’s an understatement”replies the lawyer, who affirms that the Dominion company has “reversed votes in the computer system or added votes that did not exist”. Words relayed by Donald Trump himself on Twitter.

Rupert Murdoch must testify

Four days later, Donald Trump’s lawyer Rudy Giuliani accuses the Dominion machines of having been “pirated”. He assures that piracy is beyond doubt and that Dominion is a company that belongs to a company created by three Venezuelans. Men who are, according to him, very close to the one he designates as the “dictator Chavez” from Venezuela [Hugo Chavez, ancien président du Venezuela] for the purpose of rigging the elections.

Allegations in front of the camera, but doubts off the air. The exchanges of emails, SMS and calls between the Fox teams and Trump’s entourage prove it. Like this phone call revealed by MSNBC, where Rudy Giuliani explains to the Fox News presenter that he does not know if there is fraud in Michigan. The stars of the chain and the founder of the group, Rupert Murdoch, are called to testify. The trial is expected to last six weeks.
