Canada also earned a gold medal in track and field when Camryn Rogers of British Columbia won the women’s hammer throw event.
The six Canadians who took part in the wrestling events on Saturday in Birmingham managed to reach the podium.
Di Stasio, 29, from Burnaby, British Columbia, defeated Nigeria’s Hannah Amuchechi Rueben 4-2 in the final to win in the under 76 kg category.
Randhawa, on the other hand, surged in the second half of the fight against South African Nicolaas de Lange and prevailed 9-3. Halfway through the duel, the British Columbian was up 3-2.
Madison Parks and Samantha Stewart took silver in the women’s under 50 and women’s under 53 kg, respectively.
On the men’s side, Darthe Capellan and Jasmit Phulka took bronze in the under 57 and under 74 kg respectively.
Canada sits third in the medal count with 84, including 22 gold medals.
Australia sits at the top with 154 medals (54 gold) and is closely followed by England who have amassed 146 medals (50 gold).
In track and field, Rogers was the only woman to throw the hammer past the 70-yard line. She won with a throw of 74.08 m. Her compatriot Jillian Weir won bronze.
On the men’s side, Ethan Katzberg won silver with a personal best throw of 76.36m.
The rhythmic gymnastics team concluded the competition with four medals on Saturday. Carmel Kallemaa led her team with silver in clubs, bronze in hoop and a second bronze in ribbon.
The 24-year-old Ontarian collected four medals in Birmingham, including gold in the team program.
Her Montreal teammate Suzanna Shahbazian, who also triumphed in the team program, received the silver medal on ball.
Bronze for Vallée
The day after a victory in the one-metre springboard, Quebec diver Mia Vallée improved her harvest with a third place in synchronized diving on the 3-metre springboard with her partner Margo Erlam.
Vallée, who won silver in the 3m springboard at the world championships in Budapest, will be in action on Sunday in this event.
The Canadian beach volleyball duos of Sam Schachter and Daniel Dearing and Melissa Humana-Paredes and Sarah Pavan each triumphed in their semifinal encounter and will advance to the men’s and women’s finals respectively.
The 2022 edition of the Commonwealth Games will conclude on Monday.
