Washington Commanders owner Dan Snyder could soon be forced to sell his team if other NFL owners so decide.

Years of misconduct by some team leaders in the workplace, along with a few financial irregularities, have thrust the 57-year-old into the spotlight for the wrong reasons. The various scandals surrounding Snyder and the Commanders could finally get the better of the 57-year-old businessman.
“There is some merit in removing him as owner of the Commanders, Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay said during a meeting on Tuesday, his remarks were picked up by the ESPN network. There are considerations about a possible withdrawal.”
Snyder, however, has no intention of selling his organization. The NFL would have to do something that has never been done to force it to sell the Commanders, which is to obtain at least 24 of the 32 votes from the owners. Irsay also believes that the NFL could “potentially” get the necessary number of votes.
Such a vote will not take place in the next few days, however, since the investigation by Mary Jo White, a former prosecutor, is still ongoing.
A crumbling relationship?
In recent days, the ESPN network revealed that Snyder would have hired private investigators to collect potentially compromising information about the other owners of the league, as well as about commissioner Roger Goodell.
Snyder has also responded to these accusations.
“This is completely untrue and only serves to diminish the trust and goodwill of owners, which I take very seriously,” Snyder wrote in a statement. I never hired a private inspector to investigate the other owners or the commissioner. I never ordered my lawyers to hire a private investigator for such a mandate. And I would never do that.”
