Comic New Year wishes from 6 local comedians

We can count on Quebec comedians to reflect on their year 2023 and invite us to dive into 2024 in a very funny way. The newspaper spotted the sarcastic, absurd, touching or simply comical wishes of six local personalities left on Instagram.

Rosalie Vaillancourt

The 31-year-old comedian, who will be seen in season two of the adventure reality show Get me out of here, took care to write her comical wishes by hand, like a young girl at the top of her class. Among his wishes for 2024, we find “I want to spend less time on my cell phone, but more on my iPad” and “I want to listen to all 321 episodes of Stat which I lack to be up to date.

Laurent Paquin

Known for being a sensitive comedian, Laurent Paquin shared a carousel of photos from his fabulous year 2023 (we see him in the company of several great comedians, including Daniel Lemire, Yvon Deschamps, Anthony Kavanagh, Normand Brathwaite). “Big year 2023… Looking forward (and a little afraid) to see what 2024 has in store for me. Happy New Year to you, thank you to the public for accompanying me in my life as an artist. I love you,” writes the 52-year-old artist.

Korine Côté

Beautiful in a black and white photo of herself smiling at her 2023, comedian Korine Côté, 43, combined introspective ideas and comical comments in her lovely end-of-year message. “I have had an eventful year in all areas of my life. Stormy emotions, great accomplishments, exciting projects, exceptional surroundings and lots of new things. I’m leaving there happy… I’d like to tell you that.I woke up like this“, But no. I got there, I looked like an old goat found in the garbage and Cath Brunelle did that with me.”

Sam Breton

The 34-year-old comedian, animal lover, published a photo of himself with his two dogs dressed as Olaf and Elsa, the characters from the animated film Snow Queen, to mark the end of the year 2023. Using the famous lyrics of the theme song, he wrote: “Liberated, delivered from 2023. Happy New Year.”

Phil Roy

“Love, friendship, family, jokes and moving boxes… 2023 what!” wrote Phil Roy, under a carousel of photos from his recent year. Among his highlights, note the birth of his second child, a souvenir photo show, photos of his lover and his grown-up daughter, Billie, as well as… a pizza ghetti and his dog with glasses.

Philippe-Audrey Larrue St-Jacques

“2023, the year of a wedding, of a first, of unexpected and unhoped-for pleasures, of a beautiful journey. Thank you to all the participants!” shared the deadpan 36-year-old comedian, Philippe-Audrey Larrue-St-Jacques. Through his memories of 2023, we discover a photo of him in the company of Yvon Deschamps, others from different trips, pseudo-philosophical graffiti and the sea in which a poster is planted with the words “The end» (the end), topped with a basketball hoop.
