Comedian Goûchy Boy, who played a prison guard on screen, could now find himself behind bars for two years for sexually assaulting a date, something he is trying to avoid at all costs.

“Frightened, humiliated, frozen: I didn’t know how to react [pendant l’agression sexuelle]. I was in shock. I, a strong, independent and self-confident woman, had my dignity stolen,” wrote Ugochukwu victim Chijoke Onyechekwa in a poignant letter read in court.
The actor known by the nickname Goûchy Boy was found guilty of sexual assault at the end of his trial. The Crown thus requested two years of detention as part of the sentencing observations this morning.

The 52-year-old actor wants to avoid going to the penitentiary. His lawyer, Me Kristina Markovic instead recommended 20 months to be served in community.
Before his arrest, he was known, among other things, for his role as prison guard Koffi Yatabéré in the popular TV series Unit 9 as well as for his appearances in 19-2 And Horse-Snake.
In a motel
He had met the woman on a film set. Their relationship quickly became close, but it also quickly got out of hand.
Then during a night in a motel room in 2018, he asked her to lie down next to him and penetrated her despite her refusals. He continued even though she was crying and complaining of pain.
“Even today, images resurface when I least expect them […]. The smell of the old motel room and its perfume will stay with me. An ordinary motel sign that I pass on my way takes me back to the attack,” said the victim, whose identity is protected by the court.
To sentence him, judge Christian Jarry took into consideration a telephone call recorded by the woman during which she reproaches him for his odious actions.
Confronted for almost two minutes, Goûchy Boy remained silent before apologizing. “I’ll catch up [I’m gonna make it right]“, he said.
No regrets
However, during the verdict, he exclaimed: “I didn’t do that! I did not do this!” making a scene in the courtroom.
“I have deep anger at the fact that he seems to have no regrets or even recognize his actions,” said the victim.
She has since suffered from anxiety, insomnia and hypervigilance, to the point of having cameras installed in her home.
Despite a strong feeling of shame, she hopes to give the courage to victims of sexual assault to report, as she did.
For its part, the defense wants the judge to take into account the repercussions on Goûchy Boy’s career when deciding the sentence.
“As soon as his arrest, the case was widely publicized. This led to negative consequences that continue to this day. We are talking about an individual who no longer has a contract,” argued M.e Kristina Marković.
The magistrate will make his decision in May. The actor appealed the guilty verdict.
Furthermore, he will stand trial in the coming months for sexual offenses against a minor.
