(Denver) The Colorado Avalanche will be without Nathan MacKinnon for three weeks due to a lower body injury.
Head coach Jared Bednar announced the news on Wednesday.
MacKinnon was injured on Saturday in the Avalanche’s 4-2 loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets. The star striker, however, played for 20:40 during this meeting and fired two shots on goal.
In eight games this season, MacKinnon has scored one goal and nine assists. He missed the first two games of the campaign as he had to go through NHL protocol related to COVID-19.
The Avalanche will host the Vancouver Canucks on Thursday.
