Colorado Avalanche | Logan O’Connor signs six-year contract extension

(Denver) Avalanche forward Logan O’Connor signed a six-year contract extension Monday that will keep him with the Colorado organization through the end of the 2030-31 campaign.

The 28-year-old only made 57 appearances last season due to various injuries, but still scored a career-high 13 goals.

O’Connor won the Stanley Cup with the Avalanche in 2022, when he had four points, including one goal, in 17 playoff games.

“We are thrilled to have O’Connor under contract for the next seven years,” Avalanche general manager Chris MacFarland said in a statement.

“He’s a hard worker and competitor who brings energy every night. His speed and skating make him a dangerous two-way player.”

In 263 National Hockey League games, all with the Avalanche, O’Connor had 82 points, including 35 goals. He was never drafted by a Bettman League team.

“The organization gives us the opportunity to win every year,” the forward said at a press conference. “We learn from our failures and we failed the last two years.

“But I see a lot of enthusiasm from the guys this year. Two years away from the top is a long time. We want to win again.”
