Avalanche head coach Jared Bednar said Burakovsky’s condition was being assessed Sunday and he would not be on the plane. Bednar said his forward will join his teammates in Tampa on Monday.

Burakovsky, who played heroes in overtime in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final, has been playing through pain since blocking a shot in Game 1 against the Edmonton Oilers in the Stanley Cup Final. West Fellowship.

Burakovsky couldn’t put weight on his right leg and had to get help in the tunnel leading to the Avalanche locker room.

Burakovsky is enjoying a strong run, having three goals and eight points in 12 playoff games.

Bednar mentioned center Nazem Kadri, who hasn’t played since the series against the Oilers due to a thumb injury, will be traveling with the team, but there were no details regarding the possibility that he plays in Tampa.

Kadri continues to skate and has increased his intensity in practice by adding a stick and more puck handling.

“I’m not sure yet about the timeline for Nazem,” Bednar said. We hope to see him again at some point. I’m not sure if it will be in the third or fourth game. We will see. »
