Collision between two boats leaves nine injured on the St. Lawrence

A pleasure boat and a river shuttle collided this Thursday afternoon on the Saint Lawrence River, injuring nine people.


The accident apparently happened around 3:30 p.m. on the river near Charron Island. According to initial information obtained by the Sûreté du Québec (SQ), a pleasure boat collided with a river shuttle carrying around forty people.

Nine of the shuttle passengers were taken to hospital with minor injuries. Their injuries are not life-threatening.

The pleasure boat was located by the police and an individual is currently being met by the police.

The SQ sent a reconstructionist to the scene to understand the causes and circumstances of this event.
