(Mexico City) The body of a Mexican worker who disappeared after the collapse of a bridge hit by a ship on March 26 in Baltimore, in the eastern United States, has been found, the Mexican government announced Monday.
This is the body of Carlos Daniel Hernandez, who was carrying out road repair work on the Francis Scott Key bridge when he was hit by the Singaporean container ship Dali, the minister said on the social network Mexican Foreign Minister, Alicia Barcena.
Two other workers were found dead shortly after the accident, and three are still missing and considered deceased. Two had been rescued.
The boat is still stuck in place, under debris from the bridge, blocking part of maritime transport in one of the busiest ports in the country.
A temporary navigation corridor was opened to allow the passage of vessels carrying out rescue and clearance operations.
The US Federal Police (FBI) have opened an investigation into the accident.
