Cole Caufield’s work rewarded

Cole Caufield’s work was rewarded Sunday, as he won the Molson Cup for the November split, the Canadiens announced.

Caufield was named first star twice (November 9 at Detroit and November 24 at San Jose) and second star once (November 29 at Columbus). In 14 games in November, the left winger scored three goals and collected six assists, in addition to leading the Montreal team with 47 shots.

November 9 against the Red Wings, at 130e game in the NHL, Caufield scored the sixth overtime goal of his career, becoming the fastest player in NHL history to accomplish the feat. The 22-year-old American also leads the circuit with three goals in overtime this season.

Caufield also reached the 100-point NHL mark with an assist on November 24.
