Coldplay enchants the Stade de France with four spectacular and festive evenings

Tuesday July 19. Third of four concerts scheduled by Coldplay as part of their “Music of the Spheres” tour. It’s around 9:30 p.m. when Chris Martin and his musicians arrive on stage… and off they go for two hours of intense concert, under overwhelming heat. The lights go out and the luminous bracelets – distributed to each spectator at the entrance – sparkle in a stadium that takes your eyes away. A spectacular entry into High Powerone of the most famous songs from the latest album… Then the greatest classics follow one another… Adventure of the Lifetime, Paradise, Charlie Brown, Viva la vida, The Scientist… The crowd begins to dance, jump and sing at the top of their voices. A great joy is felt and an osmosis is created in the stands as in the pit.

Time to breathe between each performance and the English singer tries his hand at French several times during the evening. The opportunity to thank his fans for coming in such large numbers despite the health, economic and geopolitical context. A closeness and kindness highly appreciated by the public. And he was not at the end of their surprise… Magic, the group’s emblematic song, was interpreted in the language of Molière by an almost intimidated Chris Martin. The 45-year-old artist even took the time, during the concert, to do prevention with the crowd during this heat wave.

One of the particularities of this tour: the public can enjoy their evening while having fun on trampolines or pedaling on electric bicycles. The group’s wish was not to encourage their fans to do more sports but rather to generate electricity to supply the energy needs of their concert. That was the deal for the team: they wanted to do a tour… but an eco-responsible tour.

It’s dark, the band starts to play A Sky Full of Stars but the leader, after a few seconds, allows himself to stop the show to ask the public to drop the laptop to make the most of it before resuming the piece. A unique moment.

11:15 p.m. The last song rings out, the fireworks go off, the confetti explodes… The end of a colorful evening. Chris Martin thanks everyone present in the stadium, from the medical teams to the security guards and of course the public. The group had a hard time leaving, especially the British singer, who sheds a few tears of emotion after giving all his energy on stage.

As with their previous concerts, the Coldplay quartet has not spared itself to offer a mix of great show, intimate moments, commitment and positivity. The recipe for success of an inter-generational group, which sold around 300,000 tickets in four Parisian dates… A record for the same tour at the Stade de France!
