Aspiring mayor Denis Coderre will unveil his client list on Wednesday, as the mystery surrounding the revenues he has earned from the private sector over the past four years has earned him several criticisms in the past few days.
The conductor of Ensemble Montréal has confirmed that the list of his mandates will be unveiled by 1 p.m. today, during an editorial meeting of more than an hour held with The duty Wednesday morning.
Mr. Coderre initially refused to reveal the list of his clients before being elected mayor, before affirming on Tuesday that he would consult the city’s ethics counselor for this purpose. The turmoil that his position in this issue caused, by monopolizing the questions asked of him in the last stretch of this campaign, however, earned him a change of course on Wednesday.
Denis Coderre will unveil today the list and the nature of the contracts that have linked him to the private sector in recent years.
Wednesday morning, Press revealed that the aspiring mayor, who notably promised to abolish the By-law for a mixed metropolis of the City, was paid by the real estate developer Cogir between 2019 and 2021 and that no confidentiality agreement bound Coderre to this company.
The former mayor of Montreal has also pocketed several hundred thousand dollars since 2017 as part of several consulting mandates for various companies, including the International Automobile Federation and the Stingray company.
