Coach and juror of “Dancing with the Stars”, Chris Marques victim of a mysterious illness… and it’s very sad!

He is THE emblematic figure of Dance with the stars in France. Chris Marques has been on the jury bench since the show arrived in France. The dancer and choreographer is also known as much for his eccentric looks as for his severity.

But the salsa champion made a revelation a few years ago about a little-known disease that affected her for about ten years. Her name ? fybromalgia. “I had it for ten years. We still don’t know what caused it. It’s much more than being constantly tired”, he confided in several programs including Hello earthlings or It starts today. This pathology combines chronic pain for years, with unjustified fatigue and sleep disturbances.

The artist spoke about this difficult period in his book, If only you knew, unveiled on October 6th.

Chris Marques shared his testimonial on the show again Well & Well, broadcast on France 2, Saturday, January 29. “It was first a crash, which turned into the flu, and lasted two weeks, three weeks… And which never left me again,” said the 43-year-old man. . “It’s a disease that struck me down for ten years.” Although he had to face this terrible ordeal, husband Jaclyn Spencer never wanted to give up dancing. However, he had to resolve to considerably reduce his hours of training. “I had very little useful time per day”, he recalled adding that he only had “half an hour” to train, against “7 to 8 hours a day before”. “Sometimes I couldn’t get out before 4 p.m. That’s the time it took me, if only to get started (…) to be able to go out”.

A stage that he finally managed to overcome!
