The president of OM, Pablo Longoria, withdrew from his post after a stormy meeting with supporters’ representatives on Monday.

While his club is going through an internal crisis which led to the departure of coach Marcelino, and the withdrawal of president Pablo Longoria, the owner of Olympique de Marseille, Franck McCourt, spoke in a press release on Thursday September 21. He denounces a meeting with supporters’ representatives which “turned into an alarming display of aggression, with members of the OM Executive Board being the subject of threats of violence.and claims to support “firmly” its president, Pablo Longoria.
“Supporting the Management Board, staff and players of OM, who are the guarantors of the continued success of our club, is and will remain my absolute priority. This support involves guaranteeing their security and a healthy atmosphere, conducive to victory”, assures Franck McCourt, while indicating that “L’Monday’s incident is just one of many that undermine the foundations and functioning of the club, and make achieving our goals much more difficult.”.
The owner of OM also calls on supporters to stay “all united behind Olympique de Marseille, starting with tonight’s very important match in Amsterdam.”in the Europa League.
