Climbing the Samuel-De Champlain Bridge | The SQ makes five arrests

The Sûreté du Québec has arrested five individuals for climbing the Samuel-De Champlain Bridge in Montreal.


The first three broke into the bridge around 4:45 a.m. Saturday. Police from the Cartier-Champlain highway station intervened; the individuals had broken into the bridge structure to brave the climb to the top.

Around noon, two other individuals tried the same thing and were also arrested. The five people arrested were between the ages of 15 and 20, and could face charges of breaking and entering and mischief. At this time, there is no confirmed link between the two incidents.
