Cleveland Browns | Joe Flacco agrees to one-year contract with possibility of bonuses

(Berea) Joe Flacco is officially with the Cleveland Browns. Even if he had already delivered the goods.

Flacco agreed to a one-year, $4.05 million deal – a pact with a host of performance bonuses – Thursday with the Browns, who hired the veteran quarterback on an emergency basis last month after learning that they would be without their starting quarterback Deshaun Watson for the remainder of the campaign due to a right shoulder injury.

The deal means the 38-year-old’s name has been moved from the practice squad to the active roster. And while it’s more of an administrative decision, it ensures he’ll be a part of the Browns (8-5) as they try to secure their spot in the NFL playoffs.

The team had moved Flacco’s name from the practice squad to the active roster over the past two weeks, so he could play against the Los Angeles Rams and Jacksonville Jaguars.

While he was on the Browns’ practice squad, other teams in the Goodell circuit could have submitted a contract offer to him. Flacco, however, indicated that he had not been made aware of such an approach for his services.

“I wouldn’t have followed up anyway,” he confided. It’s nice here. »
