Clémentine Autain: Her improbable singing career stopped by her father

On the occasion of the release of his book, Assemblies (Grasset editions), and guest of the television sets within the framework of the legislative ones, Clémentine Autain answered the questions of the magazine Closer. In the pages of the magazine, the seasoned politician returns in particular to her other career, that of a singer which she led as a child. When Closer asks her if she really stopped her life as a singer because her father, also a singer, told her that she was singing out of tune, Clémentine Autain agrees: “It’s true, but now he tells me that I just sing! I don’t regret an artistic career at all. I like politics, it’s a passion.“Indeed, the 49-year-old politician is the daughter of singer Yvan Dautin. Inspired by her father’s career, she wanted to follow in his footsteps and therefore began to cover songs by the group ABBA on television sets. in the company of Frida, Daniel Balavoine or Plastic Bertrand!Unknown, this career has nevertheless allowed him to chain records, concerts and even a soap opera which we can have a glimpse of in our player.

However, if her career as a young singer was neglected when she was a teenager, another event will mark her youth forever: when she is 12 years old, her mother, the actress Dominique Laffin commits suicide at 33 years old. A drama she tackled in her book Tell her that I love herpublished in 2019. She returns to this painful subject for Closer: “I developed a sense of responsibility very early on. I built myself against my maternal model, trying to be a reassuring mother for my children.” Clémentine Autain is the mother of two children, whose father is Mikaël Garnier-Lavalley, co-author of the book Young bastards! released in 2005, adviser to the Minister of Sports Valérie Fourneyron, appointed in 2014. She presents herself in her interview as the mother of a blended family of four children. Her husband, a teacher in Seine-Saint-Denis, is an Insoumis militant.
