It was in Hamburg, Germany, that Clement Huber see you on Monday December 6 for phase II of the selection of Thomas Pesquet’s future partners. They were more than 20,000 to have submitted their application file last June to become a European astronaut. After a first sorting, approximately 1 500 profiles have been selected to pass a first series of tests this week within the European Space Agency (ESA). On the program, psychotechnical tests for which the 29-year-old engineer from Grenoble has been preparing since he received his summons on November 12.
“The first thing we do is tell our friends to stop writing to us and invite us to parties and other outings. And then we recluse ourselves at home to revise and prepare for the tests, says Clément Huber. Tim Peake’s book, called ‘The Astronaut Selection Test Book’, is interesting enough to prepare. ”

Clément Hubert, who avoids projecting himself too much, perhaps in a few years putting on the suit and climbing in a rocket, but the desire is there: “I think we can get a little dizzy, already going towards the Moon and seeing the Earth very small. And I would very much like to be able to live that and push a little further the limits of human exploration in the space.” Clément Huber, who will know at the beginning of next year, probably at the end of January, with the results of these tests, if he can pursue his dream.
