The deputy of La France insoumise from Val-de-Marne was one of the guests of “L’Evénement” on France 2 on Thursday.

“There is a failure in our country’s tax system today, which is the lack of progressivity”said Clémence Guetté, deputy of La France insoumise for Val-de-Marne, on Thursday July 4, in “L’Evénement” on France 2. “When you are in the richest 0.1%, you have on average 2% of levies. When you are in the poorest 10%, you have 50%.”taking into account all the levies, she said.

“For us, progressivity is at the heart of the project”, she insisted, defending the 14 income tax brackets and the progressivity of the CSG (general social contribution). The tax reform of the New Popular Front will allow, she affirmed, nine out of ten French people to pay less tax. Beyond “4 000 euros of individual net income”taxpayers will pay more taxes, according to Clémence Guetté. Currently, France has five income tax brackets.
