It is against the Spaniard of Moroccan origin Fara El Bousairi that the former World Boxing Council (WBC) light flyweight champion Kim Clavel will return to the ring, on April 4, at the Cabaret du Casino de Montréal .
This will be the first fight for Clavel (17-2, 3 KOs) since his defeat by split decision in a unification fight last October, at the hands of Argentina’s Evelin Bermudez.
Despite this second setback in a unification fight, Clavel is still ranked second among candidates for the International Boxing Federation (IBF) and the WBC, in addition to being a no 7 in the World Boxing Organization (WBO).
El Bousairi (8-3, 3 KOs) will be making his first outing since November. The 30-year-old boxer has won her last three fights.
In the semi-final, super-lightweight Marie-Pier Houle (9-1-1, 2 KOs) will face Argentina’s Marisa Joana Portillo (20-18-3, 4 KOs) .
These two fights will be 10 rounds.
Derek Pomerleau (7-0, 4 KOs), Theo Owusu (3-0, 2 KOs), Bondo Winner and Reid Twohey – both in their professional debuts – will also be in action.
