Claudine Bourbonnais officially replaces Pascale Nadeau

Claudine Bourbonnais has been officially named anchor of Radio-Canada’s Téléjournal Weekend, which she had already replaced since the departure of Pascale Nadeau last summer.

The Director General of Information, Luce Julien, confirmed her appointment on Wednesday. “Claudine Bourbonnais has been a pillar of the Réseau de l’information (RDI) since its opening in 1995. […] It is distinguished by its rigor and mastery of current national and international issues. It is directly in line with the tradition of excellence of Téléjournaux de Radio-Canada,” she said in a press release.

After starting out on Edmonton radio in 1990, Claudine Bourbonnais joined the RDI team in 1995 where she was a journalist and presenter for several programs: Matin express, Matin express week-end, RDI matin week-end, The national and L’info.

Since the departure of former antenna manager Pascale Nadeau, she hosted the newscasts on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings, pending an official appointment from the public broadcaster.

Further details will follow.
